Has anyone else heard Re: Your Brains?

I recently came across this song in a link from Wil Weaton’s blog. Its essentially a song sung by a zombie to a former co-worker who has barricaded himself in the office.

The song, in Quicktime format is here , and the artist’s webpage, which I think has links to buy the song, if you want, is here .

I have a very strong feeling this is going to be stuck in my head for a while.

Interesting. Jonathan Coulton is also the guy who wrote “Still Alive”, the song for the closing credits of Portal.

Yup - Great song. I played for a bunch of people around the office in honor of Halloween, and the sheer zombieness of meetings around here.

If you play WoW, chances are you know the song, since some guy made a video of his game characters (Undead, of course) dancing to the song.

He also wrote “Codemonkey” – possibly the greatest song ever written and featured in the Cartoon Network (I think?) animated show of the same name.

I love both “Re: Your Brains” and “Still Alive”. Both are on my iPod right now.

But I gotta give a shout-out to “Skullcrusher Mountain”.

It’s the sweetest love song from an evil genius to his kidnapped girlfriend that you’ve ever heard.

Bless you! I heard this on Mark and Brian on my commute and forgot who did it!

I first head it at Penny Arcade Expo 07, live. There were a couple thousand people people in the audience, and JoCo had us all singing the “all we want do is eat your brains.” One of the better shows I’ve ever been to.

heard it?

I sang the chorus at a live performance during PAX-07 (Penny Arcade eXpo) nack in August.

Hee, good song.

Oh, hey Aioua! Did you see the two guys have a duel with their Force-FX Lightsabers during the break between sets?

No, didn’t… So where you when I had my “Who’s going to PAX?” thread?
(Did you play TerraDrive Live?)

Jonathan Coulton is awesome! His cover of “Baby Got Back” is simultaneously appalling and wonderful. It must be heard to be believed.

“I’m not a monster Tom – well, technically I am…”

I was particularly amused to stumble upon the Erfworld reference (the author commented int he comic forum that he picked that for the “trapped in the mall” atmosphere).

I don’t know, that’s a good question.

Were you able to arrange a meet-up with anyone else? I know there’s one or two other dopers who went based on a thread I started about a month later.

I’ll try to think ahead and see if there are any such threads the next time I go (which may not be next year, unfortunately).
