Huh? Why were you holding out on me? Did you not know that I would enjoy his songs? Or were you plotting against me. again.
Skull Crusher Mountain
The Future Soon
Betty and Me
Way better than that Fiest chick.

Are you Mr Coulton?
We all assumed that you had heard the Portal song “Still Alive” and figured if you wanted more, you would have already pursued it. Unless you’re one of the 7 people who didn’t hear it when it was making the rounds through the internet a year or so ago.
But yeah, I like a lot of his stuff. My favorites:
Mandelbrot Set
Big Bad World One
Dance, Soterios Johnson, Dance
Chiron Beta Prime
Re: Your Brains was turned into an e-mail epidemic at school.
The brilliant ode to a man trapped in a barricaded room in a mall, surrounded by zombies. That is, from the zombies’ perspective.
Isn’t Re: Your Brains a memo to a guy trapped in an office, not a mall? I haven’t listened to the original, in English, version for awhile, because it’s funnier to listen to in French. (I don’t speak French.)
It’s a little odd, because the singer is addressing an office coworker who’s locked up in a mall.
If you’re at all familiar with World of Warcraft, and even if you’re not, these fanmade music videos are a real trip.
I didn’t play Portal!
Isn’t it enough that I ruined a pony, making a gift for you?
Because you never asked, silly!
I should make sure this doesn’t happen again: you do about Flight of the Conchords, right? And Neil Cicierega (Lemon Demon/Trappezoid)?
Also, that time that Neil Gaiman narrated part of Creepy Doll.
Damn, that’s some good stuff. You listen to Skullcrusher Mountain and think, Finally, somebody gets me.
I love this guy! My faves:
Better
Someone is Crazy
That Spells DNA
and, of course, Re: Your Brains, Code Monkey and Skullcrusher Mountain, as noted above.
Gah, missed the edit window. I forgot to add Todd the T1000.
That one’s a hoot.
I found *Skull Crusher Mountain *through this board, so perhaps you have just overlooked the threads before…
I love almost all of his work, although I’ll admit, the song I love the best, “Live”, actually puts me into tears sometimes. Dunno why. Even with the silly warcraft gnome video.
Now, now, I didn’t do it on purpose. I’m not a monster (except maybe technically)…
Well don’t come here a year from now demanding to know why no one told you about Portal. Cause I’m telling you - go play Portal.
Because all the cool kids knew about him from going to Dragon*Con . . . .
Different style of music, and even more geekdom - go check out MC Frontalot. I recommend hitting the (MC Frontalot | Songs) page and listening there; “It Is Pitch Dark” (an ode to the days of text adventures like Zork), “Which MC Was That” (about being an unknown), and “Message No. 419” (Nigerian E-mail spam!) are good starting points.
I found him through this board, dunno which thread, and found the perfection that is Re: Your Brains, and Code Monkey. I have added much more to my ipod since. He is a nerd’s nerd.
