Has anyone else noticed this annoying thing about the iPhone 3g?

I got an iPhone 3G a few weeks ago and have found it to be fun and useful. It isn’t perfect, but it does prettycwell. In fact, I’m using to make this post right now.

However, it seems to cause an enormous amount of interference. You know the kind --that digital chirping that all digital cell phones cause in audio devices. With the iPhone, though, it is nearly constant. It is almost so bad that I can’t have it in my pocket while working at my computer.

Has anyone else has this problem? Is the iPhone signal just freakishly strong? Is it nuking my nuts while in my pocket?

Might this be the first 3G device you’ve ever owned?

I haven’t noticed mine doing anything like that and it sits beside my computer for 3-4 hours a day. My nuts weigh 40 lbs and glow though…

Mine interferes with the old FM transmitter I had for my previous iPod Touch (while hooked up). That’s about all I can see interference wise. Airplane mode stops it. But then, that’s not useful either. So I need an FM transmitter that’s compatible with the 3g device itself.

Yep, 3G devices tend to interfere with audio equipment. On the iPhone, the only thing that can help is to turn off the 3G. However- there’s another option: go to the local electronics store and ask for line noise filters. They’re these little cylindrical things that you can snap onto your computer’s speaker wires, right next to the speakers themselves. That will really cut down on the chirping you’re hearing. Worked for me.
