Yep. Haven’t been to a fest since Dope the Halls in '04 or '5 and they were pretty calm. Jonathan Chance’s Halloween parties were another story though. Fond memories.
Hey, if it means so much to you, if you’re on your deathbed and can still get it up, I’ll take one for the team from you. I’m not really gay, but what are friends for eh?
Wipes a tear from his eye
It’s things like this that make me remember why I love you guys.
Awww, not even a little?
WRT the OP, I haven’t hooked up at all, whether through the SDMB or otherwise, in quite a while, and I never have through here…
Anybody in the Koushinetsu/Hokuriku region wanna change that?
Makes note of date and time, age, and planetary alignments
Damn. I’ll be pretty old, but I have a feeling I’ll be a feisty old broad. Lemme know when you’re ready to go to the light. I can move pretty fast when I have to.
Waits for the British Airways flight booking website to load
Come on damn you!!!
Oh my. Well, I’d be able to die a happy man, that’s for sure.
I’ve thought about going to a Dopefest once, but doesn’t it feel sort of weird to see real people in place of words? I mean, does it feel like a group blind date?
Do people ever try to dress like their dope name?
Yup - that’s why no-one ever knows who I am.
But seriously, it’s not in the least bit weird, it’s fun. Saying that I’ve been meeting people of internet talkboards in one form or another for about seven years so it’s a bit old hat to me. I say try it some time, if you don’t enjoy it you can make your excuses, leave, and not go again.
Well, if you follow my posts here, there’s definitely evidence of a schmidgen of homoosity I suppose. I warn you though, I’m highly picky!
Hey, if anyone is getting a chance to pop your gay cherry it’s me (I’ve been watching your cute self for some time now…)
Oh my! fans self Don’t y’all fight over little ol’ me! bats eyelashes (LOL)
Here’s warmer.
Yeah, but New York is cooler!
Looks up at his own user name. Pauses…
No.
Yes, it does feel something like a group blind date. Once you get past the initial awkwardness (and sometimes revulsion ) it can be quite a bit of fun. I ended up housing 7 or 8 people for the last big one in NYC in, holy crap, 2002 or so. We had a blast.
This is what I came in here to lament. I guess we’ve been doing it all wrong (pun intended) in Boston.
They’ve gotten a little wilder in recent years, but I’m not telling tales.
Yeah, but it’s full of New Yorkers.
Here’s cheaper.
Oh, Illumi, you know you’re always welcome to a snog.
