I can think of one person who has posted on another website that I’m familiar with from this board.
And. . . not on this board, but I got into a short-lived edit war against some schmuck on Wikipedia updating an actors biographical details. I was eventually able to show that my info was more up-to-date than his. Then, sometime later, I found another website that had the same errant info, and I sent the same info to that site. Guess what? He’s one of the mods at that site–and the one that handled the update.
Not a chance in heck that he recognized me from the Wiki war, as I use a different user name on Wikipedia (well, actually every website that I frequent), so it wasn’t like I was rubbing it in his face. And, to his credit, he thanked me for submitting the info, and it was updated shortly thereafter.
I don’t edit Wikipedia very much (and not under this name), but I did once see a familiar name listed in the edit history of a page I was working on. It was in the form of a first initial and slightly uncommon last name. Someone I was friends with waaaaay back in the BBS era had the same last name, which I remembered because his username was a variation on his real last name. We had never met in real life, but had been pretty good online buddies back in the day. I wondered if it could be the same guy, and checked to see what other pages he’d edited. His interests seemed to match up with what I remembered, so I sent him a message asking if he used to post on such-and-such a BBS.
Turned out it was the same person. We exchanged a couple of messages but didn’t keep up a correspondence. Still, it was a funny coincidence to virtually run into him like that.
I came here from another board and I recognise several people from there by name and style. It’s even possible I’ve picked up on another one in this very thread :). I have the same name I had there so I’d be easy to spot.
A few people here have noticed the similarity between my SDMB username and my Something Awful Forums username and asked if it was me.
I also have a similar, though not the same as either name, username that I use for a lot of blog commenting on places like io9, Gizmodo, Gawker, etc… which is also the same as my Tumblr name. But no one here has connected those to my SDMB name…probably because I’m not a prolific commenter nor is my main Tumblr that popular (my side Tumblr is mildly popular in the niche genre of Game of Thrones and Venture Brothers fans.)
Just happened to me right now! However, the person has the same username as they did on that board; I post-dived on that person, and they hadn’t posted there in almost 2 years.
Apparently I wasn’t too terribly original in choosing Senegoid for a user name. Googling it, there turns out to be dozens of them. And no, not a single one of them, outside of SDMB, is me!
I like being SlackerInc everywhere I go online. I guess I’m making some huge mistake or something, that some people think is just such an obvious bad idea that it goes without saying…??? Doesn’t feel like it though and I still have no intention of changing that.
There’s someone here who I’m pretty sure also posts on a London-centric board I read and very occasionally post to. I haven’t confirmed it with her, though, as I doubt she would recognise either of my names as I don’t post enough (or interestingly enough) in either place, so it would just be a weird “hi”.
For a while I thought my brother was here, but it turned out not to be him. I’m glad it’s not.
I use the same name here as I did on another board long ago. That board was founded by refugees from yet another Forum that basically didn’t like 98% of its threads coming from our subsection (i.e. we dominated the board) and essentially evicted us. But the traffic slowly died down and/or became rather member-exclusive (to pay for server fees and stave off advertising as much as possible, I guess) and eventually I moved and stopped following the old board. I do recognize several names and a couple signatures from a few contributors around here. I dunno if my moniker or contributions were noteworthy enough for those guys to recognize me or my style here. I don’t have a consistent signature, but my sig-line style is often the same.
I’m exceedingly verbose (part of my style?) but I don’t [believe I] tend to share info that could be used for tracking or extortion.

If I’ve pissed-off someone enough that harming me seems reasonable, let me start by saying
 I’m sorry!
Only ones whose usernames are the same, or ones whose usernames are similar and whose writing is distinctive enough. It happens often enough on the other more specialized boards I frequent (military stuff, homebrewing, automotive stuff) that I don’t get terribly excited.
I’ve never said anything though- that would be odd. My usernames aren’t the same, so they probably would think I’m an awkward kook at best, and a stalker at worst.
