Has anyone ever used esurance.com for Auto insurance?

I’ve been shopping around for the best auto insurance and esurance has a great quote. I’m concerned that the whole thing is a scam, though the company is a member of the Better Business Bureau.

They offer 6 month insurance and tend to benefit younger drivers since they do not take age into consideration as much.

I’ve seen some complaints online about them, but I’m not sure if the complaints are good examples or exceptions.

Anyone had first or second hand experience with esurance?

It’s been over 24 hours, so I’m going to do something I have only done perhaps once since I joined the boards on AOL.

[bump]

I can’t say I’d heard of the site before, but I will tell you that White Mountains Insurance Group is a known and respected company, with an A rating (financial strength) from A.M. Best, the guys who, well, rate that sort of thing. Go for it.

I changed from GEICO (after 30 years), to Amica. It was almost half as much for the same coverage. You have to have a clean driving record for, I think, 3 years. I’ve never made a claim but they were recommended on this board (thanks!)

No experience with esurance per se, but I did insurance-shopping with Insweb a while back (you give them their information, they dig up a bunch of quotes). esurance was one of the carriers listed along with Allstate, Farmers, etc., so I’d guess they’re legit.

I’m shopping around for insurance as well, and got a quote from them. They were about twice as much as Progressive and Geico.

According to this link they are licensed in Texas. The OP shows China as their location. As much as I dislike the Texas Government, the insurance department can sometimes be helpful.
