I’m interested in picking it up if it’s well-written. The author’s credentials (historian at the British Museum) seem well-founded but I don’t want some ponderous treatise. Would anyone recommend a different book on money?
I cannot comment on Eagleton’s book, but on a related subject you might like Peter L. Bernstein’s book “The Power of Gold”.
In case anybody finds this later, I perused through the book and it wasn’t what I wanted. I looked like a history on the design of money with little or no mention of economic factors (e.g. it had no mention of hyperinflation.)
