I saw a Romney sticker on a Prius yesterday.
I’m still not seeing many yard signs one way or the other. Fair number of Obama bumper stickers and a fair number of Romney bumper stickers. I’d say the bumper sticker contest is a draw so far.
I definitely see more Obama stickers than Romney stickers. The Obama stickers are usually from 2008, though. The only yard signs though are the Vote NO on the marriage amendment signs. I think I’ma get me one of the t-shirts since I don’t have a lawn.
New England. A few Romney yard signs, even fewer bumper stickers.
He is not at all popular in Massachusetts; they feel duped, dumped, and deeply embarrassed.
No Obama yard signs, but a fair number of bumper stickers.
The reason you might not see Romney stickers is because on the last election, liberals were vandalizing cars and homes who had McCain stickers on them…at least in my city… you would hear lots of stories about it on the news about that, but I never heard a single story on any liberals having their cars or homes vandalized for having an Obama sticker.
So, people are just afraid of the same thing happening again to their cars and houses…I would be…and I am!
It’s a good strategy in my opinion…a great way of trying to shut people up who tried to express who they support.
Hmm, join date of Aug. 2012. No surprise here.
Where do you live? Here in the Cincinnati area, there were TONS of McCain/Palin stickers last time. I never heard about any of them being defaced.
I’ve seen some Romney stickers since I wrote the OP, but it’s still in the single digits. I still see more Ron Paul stickers.
Maybe, now that the Republican convention is over, there will be more. But for now, either people in this area are totally uninspired by Mitt, or they haven’t distributed stickers yet. My money’s on the former.
I for one wish to thank magdiel1975 for having the courage to speak up in this bastion of liberal groupthink. One hopes that the PTB don’t notice this and drop the banhammer for this egregious violation of board dogma.
Just wait until you see what we’ll do to people who have the temerity to vote Republican!
I just happened to find this blog on a google search I did..I saw the question and decided to give my opinion.
Honestly, all politicians are dirty in their own ways, so it comes down to get rid of the lesser evil.
Libs complained so much about Bush’s spending, and yet they are quiet about Obama’s spending over 5 Trillion in less than 1 term…that’s more than all the presidents in the history of the US COMBINED!.. why are the libs not complaining about that?
All they do is blame Bush..and say Obummer inherited a mess.. Firefighters inherit messes too… but you don’t see them adding gasoline to it!
We gave the guy the chance to fix it or at least make it better… he clearly has failed, so we need to give that chance to another guy… Romney was not my first choice, but he has definitely more experience on how to manage and fix the economy than Obama. I came from a communist country, so I know how socialism and communism work… IT DOES NOT WORK… I WILL NOT VOTE FOR ANYONE WHO HAS THE SLIGHTEST SMELL OF SOCIALISM ON THEIR TRAIN OF THOUGHT!
I came to this country to be free and to get away from a controlling government who would tell me how and when to do things…
I came to this beautiful country to prosper and to work hard to get what I want…instead of having to depend on the government… I despise the idea of the government taking from others to give it to me… I WANT TO WORK AND EARN WHAT IT HAVE!
That’s why I am a conservative… I don’t like hand-outs!.. had plenty of handouts in my country.
How did you manage to pack that many inaccurate statements into one post? I mean, just for starters, none of us complained about Bush’s spending.
So that means you’re not complaining about Obama’s spending?.. it really doesn’t bother you? it should!
And what other inaccurate statements did I post?
Obama’s discretionary spending is not particularly high, especially considering the government is picking up slack from a gigantic recession. Certainly I’m concerned about the growth of entitlement spending, but that’s Congress’ fault, not Obama’s.
LOL!!!
The democrats run congress…they have the majority of votes!.. if anything passes or not..it’s because of the democrats.. they control it..WOW!
It really doesn’t matter what Obummer does…it will never be his fault… It will always be someone else’s fault… WAKE UP brother!.. you know very well he is not a leader and that he has failed to lead this awesome country… I know all you want is to live on handouts given by Oh’Bama… Remember that socialism works great until they run out of other people’s money!
And your name says it all… “Really not all that bright”… LOL… priceless
Welcome to the forum. You should familiarize yourself with the rules here: you can’t insult other posters unless you are in The BBQ Pit forum. Your posts are also kind of off-topic here. Please try to stick to the subject of this particular thread. Your other concerns about Obama would do better in another discussion.
Ok.. but I did not disrespect anyone.. I was using the user’s own name… he is the one calling himself that… not me!
But I get it… I will not post anything else here.
I had my car vandalized for having an Obama sticker. I put the sticker on the inside of my rear windshield. One day I was getting in my car at the end of the work day, and some dweeb had written SUCKS in magic marker over my Obama sticker. I’m really glad I didn’t have the sticker on my bumper, that would have been harder to clean off. As it was I just needed a little window cleaner and my sticker was visible again.
I don’t like people, vandalizing signs. It’s petty and unconvincing. But it did happen to me. It was unconvinced by the graffitist’s “argument”.
You make, or more likely repeat, a claim that liberals want to shut the opposition up. Yet is was the Republicans who said from 2001 until 01/20/2009 that saying anything against the President was treason. It was the Republicans who started the “Why do you hate America” meme. It was the Republicans who publicly questioned the loyalty of those who disagreed with them, and used that in an attempt to coerce said opposition into silence. [post=10332883]My post is another citation.[/post]
If you don’t like Obama’s policies or his personality - fine, go and vote for the Rombot. Please stop repeating falsehoods about me and my motives. You’re new here, you don’t even know me.
WOW! The Republicans control the House of Representatives by 241 to 191 seats. There are 51 Democrats in the Senate plus two Independents who caucus with them. While this gives them a technical majority you may have noticed that the Republicans has been filibustering pretty much everything they disagree with, and the Democratic Caucus does not have the votes to override the filibusters.
So the statements that the “Democrats run Congress” and that “if anything passes or not, it’s because of the Democrats” are patently false.
Firstly, it’s spelled “Obama”. You seem to being having some difficulty there. And secondly, Obama is a moderate corporatist. He’s about as socialist as Ronald McDonald.
You are a true wit. Let’s look at your other post:
Because it’s not true. At best, you’re counting “debt increase” as “spending” when they include the effects of decreased revenue due to both the recession and various tax cuts. At worst, you’re using incorrect numbers. Come back with some figures and we’ll talk.
Firefighters also don’t often have to deal with the arsonists chucking Molotov cocktails at them while they try to fight the fire either. This analogy is fun.
Does he? What experience is that? Romney’s experience is in making money for himself, sometimes with unpleasant consequences for others. Some of his successes, such as running the Olympics, have been due to those government handouts the GOP regularly denounces ($410 million IIRC). I’m not seeing any evidence that he could manage an economy.
I live in a socialist country and the people here love it. And again, nothing Obama has proposed is remotely socialist. One would have thought that with your experience you would have seen that.
Welcome to the Board. We like facts. Bring some and we will be happy to discuss.
ETA: Bah. Just saw the Mod note. Bring facts to a different thread instead.
It’s still early, but there are a few Romney/Brown/Tisei signs around here – North Shore Boston. Lots of conservatives around here – the towns are small, once very rural, somewhat religious, and full of the older blue collar working types who consider a Nobama bumper sticker the height of hilarious political discourse. The Tisei signs (he’s running for Congress, I guess) are bigger, more numerous, and I suspect we’ll all be heartily sick of them by November.
Funnily enough, I could find three cites for Republican candidate’s signs being vandalised.
Only this for the Dems.
Edit: Really Not All That Bright, which entitlements would you like to cut?
By the way magdiel1975, which country did you come from? Were you aware of the Social Security program, Medicare, Medicaid and TANF? I believe your ideal country is Somalia, not the US.
