Has anyone tried those flowering teas?

I gotta admit, those flowering teas in the blown glass teapots are pretty snazzy. Are they worth the extra cost? Do they taste any good?

I’ve had jasmine blooming tea, but I can’t really recommend it. Looks cool, tastes perfume.

I’d second that - looks really cool (although they aren’t colored, kind of murky green/white depending on the flowers) - but the taste is pretty much the same as any Chinese tea. Fun as a novelty, but I wouldn’t spend money on them regularly.

I tried those flowering teas after seeing it in The Marie Antoniette move with Clare Dane. I got the
crysanthemum, which is suppose to be good for sore throat, and hibiscus, which is suppose to lower high blood pressure. They were dry, hand tied little bundles, and I had to learn how to keep them from floating up from the base–for the best visual, unfolding effect (for serving guests only-I do not mind floating flowers for myself).
Now I order flowering tea like marigold and jasmine from Rose Mountain Herbs, and the organic jasmine is great, and not so perfumey as the non-organic. Also they do not seem to cost that much by comparison to other teas in bulk, at least online.

I rather like flowering tea, especially since I have a lovely odd tea service that it works wonderful for.

It’s a clear, round-bottomed glass pot that sits on a base allowing it to tilt. A tealight is lit beneath as a warmer. Small teacups are arranged in a circle around it. You don’t lift the pot, you just tilt it to pour into the cups.

The round glass pot with flowering tea is a rather nice visual.
