Has Bizarro Superman ever turned up in a movie?

Bizarro Superman was one of my favorite character as a comics fan in the 50s. I’d love to see him featured on the big screen. Me want see Bizarro Planet too! Maybe it’s because I’m an old fart but when did the comics and movies based on them start to take themselves so seriously? And how about Mr (I know I’ll spell this wrong but I won’t check, just to see how close I get) Mxzyptlk? Has he shown up anywhere either on movies or TV to bug the hell out of Supie? And red kryptonite, that stuff was great!

Superman and Batman movies all seem to be so pompous these days, with tortured superheroes strutting about as if they’re playing Hamlet or Othello. Deadman was a real breath of fresh air, it was actually fun.

Me confused. Why you want see Bizarro Planet? If you fan, you want NOT see it.

On TV. Also Bizarro. As for red kryptonite, I’d be shocked if it hasn’t, at least in Smallville. In Smallville, Smallville was covered with enough kryptonite to wipe out the dinosaurs all over again.

Red K did show up on Smallville. Basically turned Clark evil.

As I recall, they teased the fans by having Clark call his transformation “bizarre.”

Not *really *Bizarro, but it can be argued that’s what we got in Superman 3. Especially when he split from Clark Kent and they fought.

It showed up in Lois and Clark, too. It made Superman apathetic to criminal activity. Lex Luthor also created a Bizarro Superman. If you want to count the Supergirl TV series, Max Lord made a Supergirl clone that was basically a Bizarro Supergirl. She was also exposed to red K and met Mr. Mxyzptlk, as well.

There was a Bizarro of sorts in Superman IV. A botched attempt to clone Superman fights him in a deleted scene. He’s pretty much Bizarro in appearance and intellect:

If you count direct-to-video animated LEGO movies, then the answer is yes: Lego_DC_Comics_Super_Heroes:_Justice_League_vs._Bizarro_League

If you count the various animated TV DC Universe shows, Bizarro and Mr. Mxyzptlk have been all over them. They’ve both appeared in the currently-airing Justice League Action on Cartoon Network.

Holy shit, I could literally feel myself losing brain cells as I was watching that. What a disgrace to the franchise.

Yeah, that movie killed the franchise until the recentish reboot. I saw it, but have managed to mostly build a protective wall around the memories. (I remember Lex Luthor stealing the hair from a museum, cutting it with bolt cutters.)

Mr Mxyzptlk, Red Kryptonite, and a bizzarro version of Supergirl have all shown up on Supergirl.

Sorry missed this.

Dresses like Bizarro Elvis.

Man, I’d forgotten just how bad Superman IV was. If you’d shown me those clips in black and white and put the dialog on cards in between the action, I’d say that the special effects were a little outdated.

Bizarro did directly exist in Smallville. At least, their version of the idea. He was created on Krypton but banished to the Phantom Zone, and escaped when Clark himself escaped. He did not have a corporeal form until he clones Clark, and then winds up being a backwards version of his powers: he gets weaker under a yellow sun and he can absorb Kryptonite to become more powerful. Blue Kryptonite, which completely depowers Clark, gives Bizarro so much power that he explodes, not able to handle it all.

Not that I remembered all this myself, without reading the Wiki. What I did remember was that he flew for a bit, when Clark couldn’t. And that was how we knew it wasn’t Clark.

I saw it in a theater, on the day it opened. That was the first time I ever saw a film, and actually wished that I could get back my money, and my two hours.

That’s actually the one part I unironically liked.

That said, I do ironically like the movie. I think it may have been my introduction to “so bad it’s good.” The villain is just so cheesy, and whole thing so ridiculous. Especially knowing the nuclear weapons message was meant in earnest, as if that would help.

And spotting that same shot used over and over? That always made me giggle.

Totally not what the OP asks for, but you know on “Seinfeld” how Jerry has a little Superman statue on his bookshelf? In the episode with the Bizarro Jerry, he has a Bizarro Superman in his apartment.
