Has Every Invention Been Used For Evil?

YouTube has allowed the mousetrap to be used more against people than mice.

:smack:

The xkcd and OOTS cites are pretty good examples of why I love this board so much.

I am evil, yet I was never invented. Thus the syllogism fails.

No, “Every evil thing has been invented” would be the converse, which is not logically equivalent.

Why does everyone talk about evil like its a bad thing?

I have 2 patents, both connected to cellular telephones. I am sure that both have been used for evil purposes.

I like to say that I have spent my career making it easier and cheaper to download porn. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

I for one applaud your efforts.

With one or two hands?

Would that be “evil,” though, or just negligent? I think intent should be a factor.

Anyway, I doubt the Useless Machine has ever been used for evil.

What’s the sound of one hand clapping?

Well, a lot of things that were created with benign intentions do indeed lend themselves to reprehensible deployments, sure enough. All it takes is a lethally diabolical imagination. Take naloxone for instance. Saves people from opiate overdoses, by shutting down the action of narcotics in the system.

Visualize the hospital ward where they’ve taken the burn victims, who are in severe pain…

“Damnit! Stop hitting your brother with the octopu… octopi… whatever! Stop hitting your brother!”

Yes.

Oooo-Oooo! I know that one! I read Unca Cecil’s column on it!

Do not taunt Happy Fun Ball.
