Has the media misrepresented the incident with the Covington Cathlic kids?

I’m fairly confident he’s describing an alternate universe, where things happened that didn’t happen in ours.

Perhaps you meant you hadn’t seen it yet.

Why did the Native American drummer go up, not to the ones screaming hate and bigotry quite explicitly, but to the ones in the MAGA hats?

One group is adults screaming “Ngger" and "Fggot” at a black man. The other side is sixteen year olds wearing hats. And yet one seems to get a disproportionate amount of the outrage, and the doxxing, and the threats.

:shrugs:

Shodan

“Prayers”? Didnt sound like any prayers I or the kids knew about.

But you are correct on your point the kids didnt know what to do when an asshole provokes them. The kids are taught to be proud of who they are but to be respectful of others and thats what they did.

Just wearing a hat is NOT a provocation! If you think it does, YOU have the problem.

He isnt the first jerk whos done something lie this. Back in 2016 there were all these people stealing Trump signs. People are attacked all the time for wearing a MAGA hat.
Democrats are now calling for it to be illegal for teens to wear a MAGA hat. Way to go democrats!

For the totally humor-impaired:

I mean, Jesus Christ, UrbanRedneck, how did you take that tweet seriously? At no point of reading your right-wing news did you say, “Huh, I wonder if the author is pulling our collective legs?” Also, do you realize that Jonathan Swift did not actually call for people to eat children?

Oops. urp

I haven’t seen anything regarding debating in this thread for awhile nevermind “Great”.

I’m not saying your wrong, but I’ve only seen the native American walking up to the crowd of kids banging the drum, not getting in the kid’s face. Is there a video of that?

Can we agree on one thing? Just one fucking thing???

That Sandmann guy didn’t do anything*. Can we agree on that?

*Besides wear a fucking hat of course.

Is he not within say 18 inches of Sandmann in the initial video that started it all?

I doubt there are many of our resident leftists willing to admit that.

I’m just hoping the thread lasts long enough for Urbanredneck to regale us with Chapter Two in his Tales of Bravery Where I Woulda Totally Gone Ape on That Uppity Injun if Only I Would Of Been There.

So, wouldja’ve shoved his drum so far up his ass he’d cough in cadence, Unca Redneck? Gosh!:eek::eek:

Perhaps future refinements of the “Stand Your Ground” laws will include such fine points like the actual measurements of “In Your Face”. Originally, they were meant to be about real or imagined physical assault, but perhaps we should refine them to include the potential harm to persons of delicate sensibility by invasion of personal space. Until this thread, I had not considered “in your face” to rise to the level of a mortal threat, but perhaps I shall reconsider?

On second thought, no, probably not.

A much better example would be that herd of mad cows wearing pink knit caps at the Women’s March. Or an even better one would be the Black Hebrew Israelites who, completely unprovoked, shouted slurs such as “faggot” and “incest baby” at the students.

Give us a goddam break. Your comparison is absurd, and you know it.

I don’t really have a good grip on the whole course of events, but it seems to me that the student group decided to do some kind of taunting of the crazy Black Israelites or whatever they call themselves.

Now, they are surely allowed to. And I’m not saying they started anything. But perhaps if it was a school group from an urban area, they might have known that it is common practice to ignore people who are ranting incoherently and abusively in public. So the actions of the group weren’t exactly smart, and would seem to have contributed to a senseless escalation of what seems to be an avoidable incident.

I’m not assigning any level of blame to the students… but the taunting certainly doesn’t qualify as “doing nothing.”

Mad cows?

Jesus. Yeah you guys are the civil ones

Ah, a classic case of projection, accusing others of hatred when you are yourself full of hate.

That kind of nastiness is far more typical of left-wingers than right-wingers.

Redhatbad is the 2019 upgrade to orangemanbad.

Compared to the typical leftie, a rabid wolverine would be the civil one.

Bah. If it wasn’t for double standards, lefties would have no standards at all.

Sounds like someone here needs a safe space!
