Has Trump made or spent $ on his election? [+ Trump 2016 = Springtime Hitler?]

Trump is at the age where money probably doesn’t matter to him. It’s about ego, “legacy” and leaving his mark on history. One way or another, he is 10 times as famous now as he was four years ago.

I would correct that to: 10 times as infamous now.

But to him that might be just as good.

Tangent: this piqued my interest, so I did a little research. The statute that grants SS protection to candidates doesn’t stipulate when it ends, but traditionally it has been a few days to a week after the election. I can’t imagine the agents will go home that very night, but your overall point is valid.

I’m sure Trump doesn’t know (or care about) the difference.

Trump makes me wish we could invest in people the way we invest in stocks.

Short-selling is investing . . . right?

He’s got the biggest shorts! They’re yuuuge!

You are correct, I was basing the above on what happens when a candidate concedes - that pretty much will do it as far as Detail coverage. Trump, not conceding, would have a reasonable case to keep the Secret Service until December 19th, when the Electoral College meets. After that? Obama will pull it, regardless.

Trump used donor money to purchase his own books-nice profit! Basically, he put money in his own pocket.

I believe this is extremely popular and is a big incentive for the clown car primaries. Get some donations, spend the minimum amount on your campaign, and spend the rest on “promotional material” that ends up in a dumpster.

The difference here being he is using the donor money to buy the material from himself.

Well, if I have it correctly, he used $300k of donor money to buy the books from the publisher, then resold the books to donors at heavily-inflated prices.

Books that he “co-wrote” and was getting a cut from anyway.

It’s a win-win, win-win-win… unless you’re a donor.

I don’t think that’s different than what other campaigns have done.

Other campaigns have operated like this?

This thing I wonder about is whether “The Producers” will get a big bump from Der PussygrabbingFurher, and how much Mel Brooks will gain from any resurgence in NAZI popularit?
