Punha and I met on the boards. I was a kinda newbie/lurker and decided to post my picture in Max Carnage’s ultimate picture thread type thingy and 'Pun apparently liked what he saw and messaged me. We talked for hours and hours and days and days and eventually he came and visited me down here in Podunk Virginia and he’s hardly left my side since.
Sadly, they have split up.
Well, I’d say it’s a little of both. It does take a certain amount of skill in order to close the deal once an appropriate target has been acquired, if you’ll pardon my mixed metaphor.

Anyways. He and I go back as friends quite a ways, to the old AOL SDMB. Over the years, we became very good friends, and eventually it developed into something more. We met face-to-face for the first time at ChiDope in 2002.
Unfortunately, circumstances prevent us from being together as we wish right now, and it’s still going to be a while. But we’ll get there eventually.
And let’s also remember that, sometimes, it’s just a hook-up for sex. And sometimes it leads to something a little more meaningful.
I’ve had a couple of…encounters with Dopers. However, I’m going to be modest for once, and not reveal names. It’s been primarily of a sexual nature, admittedly.
That said, I have yet to have a Doper “relationship.” I want one.
Any girls interested in a cute, funny, single guy who has never been married, has no kids, has a job and is willing to relocate?

I’m still sort of shocked that a happily single, fun, sweet, nice guy would actually choose to become involved in a romance with a woman who has four kids, a crazy ex, and a household full of pets.

Ginger, you break my heart. Because I was just recently thinking of calling all the boys names until someone called me out. But apparently, there’s no point, as some of us are never, ever gonna get laid at Dopefests.
In all seriousness, it sorta makes a bit of sense that a few good matches have been made here. You pick out a person who posts a brand of intelligence, humour, or cynicism that appeals to you, get to know that person better, and start a conversation. If there’s no talking involved in a relationship, count me out.
