Have any Dopers ever heard Cecil Adams?

This could go in GQ or About the Message Board, but I put it here since I am asking about actual Dopers’ experiences.

Anyway, I noticed that in the Scientology/Dianetics article from 1989, Cecil mentions that he used to take questions on the radio.

In fact, he mentions that it wasn’t uncommon at the time. My question is simple. Have any Dopers actually heard Cecil Adams on the radio? If so, what did he sound like?

Here is the article.

Scientology

I want to say I heard Cecil on Chicago’s Q101 waaayyyyyy… back when they had “Wendy & Bill” in the mornings (c.1996?). Some joker called in and asked the age old “What’s a rhyme for orange” question. Cecil was cool and collected throughout.

In retrospect, it might have been Ed. I couldn’t say for sure. It was definately a “Straight Dope” guest segment though.

1996 is waaayyyyyyy back? I think Cecil was referring to the late 70’s in his article.

I really hope this thread unearths an audio clip.

I knew of the newspaper column, and the books, ages before I joined the SDMB.

Yes, me too.

So…has anyone heard a radio interview?

Me too. It must have been in the early 80’s when I first became a fan. I found the message boards because I was looking to read some of his stuff.

Heard, not heard of.
