Have you ever been in a Trope situation?

Years ago, my son had a pet anole lizard. He had it in a plastic lizard habitat in his bedroom. My husband was working midnights so was home during the day while the kids were in school and I was at work. One day he called me in a panic. He said the cat knocked over the lizard house, the top came off and the lizard was gone. We both thought the cat had probably killed and eaten him. I couldn’t stand the thought of my heartbroken little boy, so I rushed to the pet store, bought another lizard, and had the whole thing back in place before he got home from school. As he always did, he fed the lizard as soon as he came home. He didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary, so I breathed a sigh of relief. The next morning as we were arising and getting ready for the day, he yells out - Mom, why are there two lizards? I rushed into his room and sure enough, there was the original lizard laying on top of the heat lamp! I had to fess up.

I took a quick look and couldn’t find a specific trope for “We all thought you knew…”

After I separated from my wife & eventually divorced, I found out that my family never really liked her, nor any of our friends, or the people in our social groups, but they all figured I had some sort of reason to be with her.

Looks like I was Out of the Loop.
