Wife and I were at the door ready to leave a very nice restaurant. I was dressed in a suit.

2 old birds walked in, handed me their coats and a fiver and said “thank you, dear.”

No I gave the coats and the cash to the actual coat attendant. Right after starring at my wife blankly. After I handed the coat guy the coats I proceeded to walk out which prompted an odd look from him. Everybody got confused that night. Except for the 2 old ladies who had no idea.
