There’s a joke in there somewhere about 76 virgins, but I am not brave enough to try and extract it.
I’ve considered a namechange in the past, but the only thing I’d really consider changing it to is punha (or something of the sort), and A) enough people already call me that anyway and B) enough people already think my username is based off pun=joke that it’d take something strong to wrestle that away from them if the iam- were gone.
Plus I’m so bloody used to logging in is iampunha that if I changed my name I just know I’d forget one day and think I’d been banned or something, and that would be no fun at all.
Considering **Roland **is already taken as a name, have you given thought to changing it to just Orzabal? That would be obscure enough that most people wouldn’t get it, would placate the people that think naming yourself after a person is annoying, and just generally looks cooler too.
Of course, in the end, you’d still be named after the same guy and it wouldn’t change things too much but maybe the slight change might be somewhat beneficial.
I was Loup when I first signed on. I’d started lurking back in '99, and there seemed like there were a lot of people with Wolf in their names (anyone remember SilverWolf? Ravenwolf? something like that). Well, I wanted to be called wolf, but I didn’t want to be confused with anyone else. So we were reading about a loup-garou in french class, and I though, “Hey! I’ll be Loup!” Then I wasn’t on here very much for about a year (school, work, etc.) and when I started posting again, I felt that a new user-name was in order. Anduin is actually the first name of a really good friend of mine in HS, but I chose it because of its origin. Anyone recognise it?

Yep - just did it this week. The old one’s in my sig to let people know. Why did you change your doper name?
Because I’d used the old one for quite awhile, and it sort of scared me when someone found me under three different boards with that name. I like to maintain some sort of anonymity between the boards I post on. Not for any ‘evil’ reason, just because.
Are you glad you changed it? Or do you wish you had left it as it was?
Yep. I like the new one, even if it’s only a couple of days old.
