Have You Ever Encountered a Demon or an Angel?

I met someone who thought she saw angels, does that count? I ran into her when I walking into my apartment building years ago, here’s how the conversation went:

“Oh, you’ve got an angel on your shoulder.”
“Um, what?”
“You do, I can see it. I believe in angels.”
“Excuse me? What are you talking about?”
“You have an angel on your shoulder. It’s obvious.”
“I do?”
"Yes you do. It’s right there.
“Um, ok…”
“Don’t look at me like that! I believe in angels! I’m not crazy! What the hell is wrong with you! You have an angel on your shoulder!”

Yes… when I married the 20 year old gorgeous girl she was an angel. Thirty years later when I forgot to do the simple task she asked me to do I realized things had changed a bit.

no

Yes, and I divorced him.

The pickings are slim around here. If I was the OP I’d take this. It’s the best they are going to get.

Never seen a demon but I have seen evil.

Speaking as a Catholic…

Nope.

(Emphasis mine)

According to this strict criteria, my answer is yes.

I was in a nightclub. Typical place: pounding music, sweaty, full of people.

The crowds parted, and there she was. I remember a sensation of time stopping, and of everyone else kind of freezing. There was a… creature in front of me. Not only bathed in light, she seemed to have an internal glow; she was literally radiating light. I had a very clear, unshakable sense that I was looking at something not of this earth.

I look back on that day now, and I can’t explain it. Maybe it was the heat. Maybe it was the hypnotic music, or perhaps the bag of magic mushrooms I’d consumed earlier. Or maybe, just maybe, I was in the presence of grace.

Jones or Slick?

No.

I’m reminded of a friend who insisted he saw a flying saucer one time. He said that he had seen a bright light in the sky and it had moved around in a manner that no aircraft could do. So he figured it was an alien spaceship.

I asked him how he knew it wasn’t an angel. Or a dragon. Or Johnny Storm.

My point was that he saw a bright light moving strangely in the sky. That was objective. The idea that what he saw was an alien spaceship was his subjective interpretation of the event. His alien spaceship was one percent observation and ninety-nine percent conjecture. As I noted three other people could have been standing next to him and seen what he saw and they might have “witnessed” four different things.

By the same principle, anyone who thinks they’ve encountered a demon or an angel or some other supernatural being needs to draw a line between what they actually witnessed and what they think it meant.

I teach English in Taiwan and there have been a number of Angels in my classes. No demons but there was a Damon. Does that found?

I come from Mormon stock and know many people who believe they have met heavenly messengers. There were countless urban legends about people meeting Satan.

There are two black cats that live here. One is a Demon and the other is a Devil.

[whisper]They live here and I can’t call them that. If I do they get really pissed.[/whisper]

Does a four winged duck count?

As soon as someone shows definitive proof of the existence of either demons or angels, I’ll be able to answer your question.
