Have you ever had ice milk?

When I first saw this thread, I thought “ice milk” meant milk with chunks of ice in it, LOL.

BTW, don’t ever consume milk with ice. It’s disgusting.

I’ll be consuming milk with ice in a few hours, when I go to a boba shop and have a black milk tea with plenty of ice and boba. Far from disgusting, it’s delish and addictive.

I’m pretty sure what my mom kept in the freezer was ice milk. I grew up thinking that ice cream had little frost crystals in it and only came in “Neapolitan” flavor. I didn’t care for it much. When I was older and had real ice cream for the first time it was a revelation! Now I have to limit myself to buying a pint only once every other month or so.

Growing up in the 60’s, ice milk was usually soft serve from Dairy Queen or other places. Interestingly, no one ever tried to pass it off as ice cream if it was sold in firm form. They’d always state on a sign or tell you when you ordered it was ice milk.

The kind you got outside was usually tolerable, but I bought from the supermarket on purpose a few times and it always bad.

As mentioned above, I think Fudgesicles, Creamsicles and their equivalents are ice milk. I think Milk Nickels too.

Speaking of Creamsicles, does anyone remember lime and strawberry? I’m pretty sure they were Popsicle brand.

I think those frosty malts you get at the theater are ice milk too.

I think they are because I sometimes get hives when I eat ice milk, even Dairy Queen, but never ice cream.

Being Asian, I’m lactose intolerant and strangely can only drink 2% Meadow Gold (local brand) milk. Anything else or any other brand and I get hives. I once bought skim milk thinking, well I’m okay with 2%, so skim should be better. Nope, got major hives and stomach sick!
