In our case, we were in Manhattan, not far away from Times Square. In other areas, yeah, the answer would be quite different.
Having been in many cabs in NYC, I’d greatly prefer waiting for an Uber. Cabs in New York, like many other places, are often a terrible experience. I’ve never had a bad Uber ride (although I certainly acknowledge it could happen).
