About once per month I stay up all night to catch up on house work or get a proposal in on time. There were years of my life when it happened more than once per week.
It’s really not that big a deal.

It’s only happened because of illness or insomnia or a combination thereof, and on those rare occasions, I feel physically ill and can’t function the next day. If I get fewer than five hours sleep under normal circumstances I have the same problem – no staying up all night and going to work for me.
No, I’ve never stayed up all night. I just don’t see the attraction.
I stay up all night 2 - 4 nights a week flying freight around the country. I won’t say I don’t like it, but I find it difficult, sleeping during the day is not something I do well.
About once every couple months I’ll get involved in something really interesting on the computer or tv. I’ll look up and it’s 5 AM.
Going to bed for two hours, getting up and going to work is a bad option. I’ll feel much better just staying awake, go to work, and then crash in bed about 7pm.
