Never.
Clearing my schedule for The Legend of Zelda, Skyward Sword. Sooo hyped!! (I *only *own a Wii, so you can imagine how starved I’ve been for this)
Only a few times, and always legit (used a vacation day)
Recent ones were Starcraft II and (tomorrow) Skyrim
I was a few hours late to work for an Onyxia raid one time. Other than that, no.
Yup - today
I’ve done it one other time for the launch of Civ 5.
I’ve scheduled days off around when new games come out before - specifically, the last few GTA games, Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood, and Red Dead Redemption. And I’ll do it again when the next AC game, and GTA V come out.
I’ve never took a day off to play a game, but I have, on multiple occassions, called in sick because I played a game too long into the night to be of any use in the office at 9AM. Especially in my WoW days I som, etimes spent until 6AM to grind and called in sick to sleep in until 5PM.
I’ll take the day off when Skyward sword comes out as well. One week left! Woo!
Not for that purpose entirely, but some sick days have turned into that. It’s amazing how the act of calling in sick to work can make you feel better. At least good enough to play City of Heroes long enough to earn your first cape.
I’ve only done one all-nighter. Bioshock. Stopped playing at 8 once my eyes glazed over.
Oh, and I never buy games on release day, or anywhere near it.
I just tried the Old Republic beta.
I’ll be taking days off work to play this. Oh yes. There will be an Old Republic flu after Christmas.
I got my invite to that the same day I got Skyrim…oh the problems of Nerds
Wait, wait… you mean there are people who don’t take time off from work to play video games?
:dubious:
huh… who would’ve thunk it?
I’ve taken plenty of days off to play World of Warcraft, especially right around releases of new expansions. In fact, when Wrath of the Lich King came out I took almost a week off so I could level up and be ready to raid.
I might have taken a sick day or two to play, but not in recent memory. Almost always, I take vacation time for my habit. I will be doing it again when WoW: Mists of Pandaria comes out next year.
