I used to use one because my old job’s insurance plan started to required it. It was ok, but there were a few issues.
Biggest for me was ordering insulin. Because it needs to be refrigerated it comes packed in a big insulated box so, annoyingly, the FedEx guy **cannot **leave it if I wasn’t there. If I wasn’t there the second time it got sent back. Also if you have any prescriptions that are controlled substances they too are sent certified and require a signature. Eventually I got tired of this and found it easier to just go back to using the local pharmacy. Eventually my local pharmacy made it so they were almost as cheap as mail-order.
YMMV…
#3. Pharmacies in foreign countries which require a prescription, but which will accept a prescription from a U.S. physician (as is the case with at least some Canadian pharmacies). Same issues re: lack of health insurance reimbursement and/or possible Customs interception may apply.
Yup, I like them. Are we talking with or w/o an Rx? I had an Rx for some meds once, but instead of paying full retail I just had a Dr write a script for a larger pill so I could break it into quarters, and then obtained them online, saved about 80%.
My insurance (Kaiser) has it’s own pharmacy system and as a perquisite for ordering on-line, I get 3 months supply for the price of 2. If I order at the pharmacy counter I can get a max of 1 month supply. That makes it much worth it to me and they are very efficient although they only have one size of mailing bag no matter if you order 1 prescription of several. The bags could actually be used to store blankets and towels later if you want.
