When I was pregnant with TheKid I went to play bingo - spent about $25, came home with over $800. There have been many “paid myself back” bingo sessions.
When online poker paid for real, I ended up cashing out $400 over about a year of play. Considering I had never played prior, I was happy with that.
Won $500 on a scratch off a few years ago.
So nothing HUGE.
My best friend and her husband always come out ahead. We were playing pull tabs one night - I won a few bucks. Her husband bought one. One. Won $1000. She also won that night, I think around $500. They were kind enough to share.
Before they closed the casinos in Jakarta way back when, I won over a million rupiah one night. At the exchange for that time, it was over $1600 US. Biggest win I’ve ever had.
Won a new car playing bingo back in the early 80’s. Didn’t have the $1300 for taxes and license at the time so the dealer bought the car back for $1800, about half what it was worth at the time (1983 Chevy Cavalier). Won $1600 at an Indian casino on one $3 spin. Hit something that gave me 10 free spins and won that 4 more times with the free spins. Sat for 25 minutes while the game ran till the free spins were done. Cashed out and left.
Won $10,000 on a treble at the trots about 25 years ago (well I got half as I was betting with a friend).
About 3 years ago I took a quadrella (picking four winning horses in four selected races). I had three horses in the last leg and the one I had going for $48,000 in the last leg (previous three legs had won) was beaten by a short half head. About an inch.
I fed $20 into a nickel machine (“Dean Martin’s Wild Party”) at Fallsview Casino in Niagara Falls one time and long story short cashed out $499.50. Paid off the Disney Marathon vacation I had a couple weeks previous.
Not me, but my Dad hit a hole in one at a golf tournament and won a $30,000 MSRP car. He didn’t need the car, but negotiated with the sponsoring dealership and got $25,000 in cash instead.
I once was playing quarter slots at Caesar’s in Atlantic City and won about $250 … only to keep playing idly and then hit a jackpot and won $2500 about 15-20 minutes later.
Then I walked out of the casino shortly thereafter.
I won a couple of hundred in a casino in Colorado, once. $100.00 once on a scratch ticket here in BC. Since I have never been very lucky when gambling (other than my choice of a husband) I don’t go to casinos very often.
25,000 euro on the european cup qualifiers. I picked Turkey, England, Russia and spain to progress to the next round.
I wanted to pick also France and Italy but they were very short odds and guessing that the odds of selecting six correct results was vey low I skipped them. Had I included them I would have won about 175k:smack:
I won $1,000 on a TV show once, but had hoped to win $1,000,000.
A few years ago I played in a few low-stakes house poker games and won money each time, netting almost $200, but I felt kind of guilty and stopped playing.
