#4 Surfin’ Bird was released in the spring/summer of 1963; the first Beatles song (I Wanna Hold Your Hand) released in America was released in December of 1963.
The main point though is that Surfin’ Bird was typical of a certain genre (“beach”?) of songs that were popular in the early sixties, without regard to when it was actually released.
