Have you read the Connie Mack trilogy by Norman Macht?

Mods: I put this in the game room rather than the café as the topic is about baseball and 700 page books on early baseball history are definitely a niche interest.

As the weather gets colder and baseball season seems so far away, I thought I’d tackle this hefty trio of books on Connie Mack. I read quite a few books on early baseball history last winter, it’s a different world than today.

But, I’d hate to start this massive undertaking of 3 very long books and find myself wanting to quit halfway through.

Have you read it? Fascinating or way too much trivial details? Given the length of the books, I’m probably better off buying than checking out from the library. Would I be fine with Kindle or should I get the dead tree edition?

I’ve not tackled them. I wish they were on audio - that would be my preference. I just checked my library - they only have books 2 & 3. Weird.
