I’ve been reading on the web about Salvia divinorum, a legal herb that allegedly makes the user high as a kite. Have any of you or someone you know tried it, and if so, what were its effects?
If you look here, you can find out all kinds of fascinating stuff about whatever mind altering substances are out there–legal and illegal. There are reviews of substances, good, bad, and indifferent.

Good site, Meep. I don’t intend to use this stuff, I’m just fasinated by all the things that are being marketed as alternatives to illegal drugs. I wonder why, if this stuff gets you stoned, the powers that be don’t try to outlaw it. I never hear about things like this on the news. “Your kids may be getting high…LEGALLY!” type stories.
Note that this plant is related to Salvia officinalis, the herb sage.
Where do ya get the stuff?
I’m really sad not to provide a proper cite for this, but I remember reading (in a reprint of an old herbal) that these far-out salvia users run the risk of dying from “an excess of joy.” Maybe those old writers just couldn’t get the idea that simplistic soundbite warnings are meant to be scary.

Just past halfway down the page.
Or so I’ve heard.
Wonko: IIRC, Manny said that any discussion of drugs, etc., was okay, but asking where to get it, who sells it, where to find a seller, etc., was crossing over.

Doh! But it’s legal. Ignore my idiocy.
