Hawaiian Island Artist Peggy Chun passes away.

I know, I know, I know, her watercolors were kitchy, but she was one of the best.
Her works inspired a whole generation of island artists to try watercolors. But the most amazing thing was she continued doing art right up to her death, despite having ALS.
The telephone book featuring one of her watercolors was one of the most popular covers they ever put out.

Aloha No!

I read the story on the Advertiser’s front page today, and I was really touched by the goodbye party they had for her. If you know you’re gonna go, I can’t think of a better way to do it.
