Only if you are willing to show consideration, cooperation and compassion towards others; in other words, not be a libertarian. They want to rearrange society so that all the advantages go to the predators and the cooperators are forbidden to cooperate. They want the Law of the Jungle to be the law of the land.
Yes, it’s much better to believe that social problems should be solved by charity rather than taxes, but then admit that you don’t ever donate to charities! A philosophy that we can only thank Og that everyone does not subscribe to.
I’m sure in 20 years, I’ll be saying the exact same thing…but until then…
Just because someone lacks significant emotional maturity and experience in dealing with adults as peers, does not mean their political stance has no merit (though I am suprised he has started on that end; most callow youths start their political lives passionately, greenly, blue).
I agree with you. You, at your age, at least show maturity beyond your years. But some post and, when you find out how young they are, you really aren’t all that surprised.
With you I was surprised. With Vox, I wasn’t*
*I might actually be wrong. He may be 14. He’s either 14 or 15, I forget which and I’m too lazy to look it up right now. But for anyone who cares, just search the term “youngest” in MPSIMS and find the “Am I the youngest person?” thread.
 I don’t “believe that social problems should be solved by charity,” I just believe that they shouldn’t be “solved” by government. If charities want to do something then fine. Also, my personal lack of charitable inclination is not inconsistent with this at all.
Well, there are social problems, and there are social problems. When, for example, people get screwed out of a chance to make a decent and honest living because a few folks find that it is in their own economic best interest to perform the screwing aforesaid, then we have a problem that can be addressed only by society’s enforcement arm, Government.
