Apparently they’re getting Jeremy Saulnier to direct the episodes. Saulnier wrote and directed both Blue Ruin and Green Room, the latter of which is my favorite genre film of the past decade. Saulnier’s recruitment also comes on the heels of HBO hiring David Milch to provide Pizzolato with writing support. If you’re a fan of True Detective but were disappointed by the last season, this is very exciting news.
