We’ve notice these horizontal bands that slowly (bottom of the screen to top maybe five seconds) roll up the screen. I thought it was the TV but its doing it on two different ones. Sometimes the band gets more pronounced when the frig compressor cycles on. Sometimes its more obvious than others, mainly depending on the background color. This is relatively new and nothing has changed as far as TVs or cable boxes. Could it be the signal itself or maybe something to do with our electrical service (100 amp - soon to be upgraded as lights dim when things like a/c and other things turn on)?
Oops - should be in General Questions. Could one of the mods move this thread? Thanks.
The power runs though a power strip and the bands appear even when the cable box is turned off (i.e. - a black screen). I had an issue with my receiver putting out a loud hum until I ran a ground wire directly from the back of the receiver to a metal rod that I drove into the sand crawlspace floor so maybe there’s a housewide grounding issue? Its a 60 year old house if that helps. The thing is, these bands weren’t always there. I started seeing them about a month or two ago.
