He Hate Me FF keeper league - year 9

For now, my keepers are Austin Collie in the 8th and Mike Williams (SEA) in the 10th. Still debating Lafell in the 13th, but leaning against. I might still change my mind later tonight, but if I don’t, it’s just Collie and Williams.

It’s looking like Brandon Tate is going to lose his job. Sam Bradford is gonna be my only keeper.

I PM’ed Jimmy, who can’t make the draft so offered to autodraft if we couldn’t find someone else in time.

DragonAsh can make the draft, so welcome aboard! League invite has been sent.

I’ll set the draft order and keepers once DragonAsh has submitted his keepers.

Nice to have you, Ash.

My third draft in a week taking place at 3 in the morning. I expect a ‘damn, he’s up at 3am’ discount on all my picks…

I’m keeping Stafford as my only keeper. I’m all in on Detroit’s offense this year.

Also, just confirming the scoring: for passing, 1pt every 30 yards, and 6pts per passing TD, and -3 for interceptions. (Reminds self not to pick Cutler), and this is NOT a PPR league, right?

Here are the keepers posted here and on the yahoo page. I’ll check this thread and the yahoo league a couple hours before the draft to make any corrections necessary, so be sure to post if your keepers aren’t listed or set properly.

Unlike the OP, the rounds listed here are the rounds they’re being kept, not the rounds they were drafted last year.

  1. Jules Andre (HungryHungryHaruspex)
LeSean McCoy (Phi - RB) 2nd round - kept last year

  2. Ellis Dee (New York Fanboys)
Ahmad Bradshaw (NYG - RB) 4th round - kept last year
Hakeem Nicks (NYG - WR) 8th round - kept last year

  3. The Mad Hermit (Crabby Hermits)
Jerricho Cotchery (NYJ - WR) 8th round
Antonio Brown (Pit - WR) 13th round

  4. Wilson (Fourth & Nineteen)
Austin Collie (Ind - WR) 8th round
Mike Williams (Sea - WR) 10th round

  5. Bababooey (DrewBrees’sBirthmark)
Ben Roethlisberger (Pit - QB) 5th round
Javon Ringer (Ten - RB) 9th round
LeGarrette Blount (TB - RB) 12th round

  6. DragonAsh (ViQueens)
Matthew Stafford (Det - QB) 5th round

  7. Omniscient (Omni’s Omnipotents)
Sam Bradford (StL - QB) 9th round

  8. Hamlet (Moridwon)
Vincent Jackson (SD - WR) 6th round
Darren McFadden (Oak - RB) 8th round
Marshawn Lynch (Sea - RB) 10th round

  9. RNATB (9 Inch Neils)
    No keepers.

  10. VarlosZ (Varlos’ Zzzzzzz)
Dwayne Bowe (KC - WR) 4th round
Mario Manningham (NYG - WR) 11th round - kept last year

  11. Munch (Off Constantly)
Jamaal Charles (KC - RB) 3th round - kept last year
Vernon Davis (SF - TE) 10th round - kept last year

  12. Spiritus Mundi (Spiritus Mundane)
Mike Wallace (Pit - WR) 4th round
Josh Freeman (TB - QB) 12th round

  13. furt (Fightin’ Quakers)
Jeremy Maclin (Phi - WR) 9th round - kept last year

  14. Weirddave (Baltimore Weirdos)
Peyton Hillis (Cle - RB) 5th round
Mike Williams (TB - WR) 6th round
Miles Austin (Dal - WR) 7th round - kept last year

J. Charles in the 3rd round is awesome…Nicks in the 8th and Austin in the 7th, damn.

But I’d still take Blount in the 12th round FTW.

Where can we see the draft order?

Regular view (by round) shows the draft order, by team shows your keepers.

I’m keeping Percy Harvin.

All set.

About an hour and a half before the draft. Seems like everything is far too quiet. Has anyone any interest in the top overall pick?

What are you looking to get for it?

I’m busy trying to figure out how it is I haven’t won this damnable league yet.

Depends on who is interested. The fantasy pick calculator listed above would be a a 1st and a 3rd or 4th (roughly) based on which draft slot is looking to move up. Open to offers if anyone is interested.

Well, I can’t offer a 3rd, since I’m locked in there with Charles. If something quick and easy comes to mind before the draft, let me know.

It might take a few days to build up the courage to look at my roster and review it. I hated this draft more than any other I’ve ever done. I missed out on every tier and didn’t get a single guy I wanted or targeted, outside of AP. Just way too many picks between mine. It would have been an abject disaster if it didn’t just so happen the trade I made before the first pick (that fizzled) was for the guy I wanted first anyway. God, I can’t even imagine how much I’d hate this team if I didn’t get stuck with a guy I wanted there.

Not a fan of this draft. Too much speculating for next year, not enough work on depth for this year.

AP and McCoy form a formidable 1-2 punch at running back, but after that, blah.

Matt Ryan is more of a platoon quarterback than a true #1; Atlanta relies heavily on the run, and while rookie wideouts have been very productive over the last few years, the lost offseason is going to impact this year’s crop adversely. That means Ryan is still throwing to Roddy White and whatever is left of Gonzo.

Thomas is a sneaky pick - he’s going to be Jacksonville’s Steve Smith, lined up wherever they can think of to get him in space - but Reggie Wayne is old and won’t produce without Manning (and may not produce with Manning, if he’s not fully recovered). Kellen Winslow is dinged up and over the hill anyway; there were much better TE values available later on.

Like the Chargers’ D, but I don’t like it enough to draft it before position players.

Few of the backups here is likely to see the field absent injury to someone else, except Emmanuel Sanders - and he might be the Steelers’ #4 wideout. Nelson will go for 500 yards and 5 touchdowns, which is fine for where he was drafted but not good enough for a #3 fantasy wideout - which he will be, because Lance Moore is hurt and had fallen to fourth on the Saints’ depth chart.

Overall, this draft gets a C-. It would have been a D, but this might be a scary, scary team with next year’s keepers, and that’s worth a letter grade.

Lots of value here, but this team is going to suck the big one for a couple of weeks.

Manning is Manning, but having to start Mark Sanchez for 1-4 weeks is going to hurt.

Foster is unlikely to play in week 1, and probably won’t get a full load of carries until week 3 or beyond. That might not be a problem, but neither Ben Tate nor Derrick Ward are on this roster, and Jerome Harrison is the Lions’ #3 back. Considering that this team got Bradshaw at least a full round later than he would have been drafted otherwise, the weakness at running back is worrying.

Bryant, Holmes and Almendola are serviceable. Steve Smith really makes this WR corps; he’ll be a #2 or better by midseason and is a keeper steal.

One out of Keller and Miller is in line for a big year.

There are lots of potential keepers here, but other than Steve Smith I don’t see any being worth more than a round more than they will cost.

So, this draft gets a C.

Now this is more like it. Not much to like here keeper-wise, but who cares?

Romo is a stud. On the other hand, it was a really bad idea to skip drafting a capable backup considering Romo is coming off a season-ending injury.

Rice/Wells/Jacobs are a solid starting line. Plus, Michael Bush is one of the two most valuable backup backs in the league (with Jon Stewart). Snelling and Choice have zero keeper value - Snelling was a free agent this offseason, and nobody offered him a starting job - but they’re just fine as one-year backups.

Wide receiver is a weak point. Ocho is good, but The First Steve Smith only had 500 yards last year and won’t do any better with Newton. He’s a fine backup, but not a great starter. Branch could be startable, but he hasn’t caught a pass in preseason. Cotchery will probably be the Steelers’ #3 wideout at best.

Aaron Hernandez is by far the more talented of the Pats’ two tight ends, but Gronkowski gets on the field at the goal line because he’s stronger in run blocking. I’d be worried about plugging in Hernandez for a full season.

Brown has lots of keeper potential. Well done there.

This draft gets a C+. It would have been a B+, but I took points off for taking a defense early and the shitty receiving corps.
