How cute!! Adorable baby, Ruffian! And he looks so innocent- he thinks we don’t know, doesn’t he? I need more pics. And I hope you’re healing well and now sleeping… bwahahaha! Oh well, healing well anyway.
He’s so cute! Congrats, Ruffian and family!
Oh my, I just love those little expressions they have when they are first born and everything just confounds them! He’s cute! He reminds me of Bram when he was first born.
I’m so glad that he’s healthy and all that uncertainty and back and forth is over. Congratulations!
Congratulations!
I found the pain from the first few days of breast-feeding to be worse than the pain from my c-section. There isn’t enough Lanolin in the world when you have a hungry newborn.
Hoping your recovery from the c-section is speedy. I know you hear horror stories, but IME it really isn’t bad for major abdominal surgery. I’m quite prepared to admit that this might just be me though, I’d stopped all pain relief by 5 days post-op and was only taking paracetamol from day 3, so if you’re having a horrible time I’m really sorry.
Your son is just adorable (and very alert looking)- how is big bro taking to him?
Nice name for the new colt.
I hope if you aren’t done that you can manage to keep the tail female line going.
Mazel Tov! (What, no one has wished a baby born during Hanukah a mazel tov?) I’m glad all involved are well, that you have a healthy baby and apparently your baby sustained no injury (I recall you were worried about that). At the end of the day, that’s what counts.
YAY!
He is gorgeous and not at all squished up and mangled like Walter Matthau like Vag delivered babies.
Welcome to the World, Little One! Start your IRA now and save for college. This is that memo you will say you never got.
Huzzah for fresh-squeezed DoperBabies! Love, love, love the pic – awesome shot!
Congrats - he’s gorgeous. Welcome to the world, little guy!
Congratulations on a beautiful baby! I think the name you chose is lovely. Like irishgirl, I found that recovering from a C-section wasn’t nearly as bad as I expected, so here’s a wish that you will have a swift and easy recovery too. Give the little guy a snuggle from me!
P.S. – try to get some gel soothies for you sore breasts; I remember they felt wonderful when I was nursing my babies.
He is so adorable. Most newborns look a little . . . well, I agree with whoever said they all look like Winston Churchill. My second one also looked like a bruised vampire because all the capillaries in her face and eyes were broken (came out with her arms crossed in front of her neck, which caused a lot of pressure). But he just looks like a very attractive baby!
Absolutely adorable.
I keep going back to look at the picture. He’s so cute!! If you ever get sick of him, send him my way! He has a lot of hair for a blondie.
Thanks again, everyone! Again, I wish I could respond individually, but circumstances make that a bit difficult. But please know how much I’ve enjoyed perusing this thread (and a few others) during our breastfeeding sessions. BTW, kiddo is doing better at his latch, but still likes to clamp on the nipple only (YEEOOWWCH). I yelped in pain when he latched on during his last feeding–but the nurse said that since the pain gets better (and I’m not on the ceiling the entire feeding), it should be fine. A lactation consultant checked his latch for me (it’s been a few years), and all looked good–just have to say, forget the Lanisoh. Bring on the ice packs!
Looks like Trent and I will be going home later this afternoon. I could stay another night, but Big Brother is starting to suffer from mommy withdrawal.
Because of the H1N1 concerns, all local hospitals have restricted visitors to over age 14 only–so he’s been home with Grandma all this time. I’ve sent him some video clips, but at 3 I’m not sure he’s understanding. I look forward to cuddling with my big little man tonight. I can’t wait for them to meet each other!
And of course, I have more pics. ![]()
Bonding with Daddy
Hello, world!
Big yawn
Rocking out during his newborn hearing test yesterday
He definitely has a Winston Churchill look–those cheeks, hee! Big Brother didn’t have those, but otherwise, this little man looks very much like his brother.
Can’t wait to bring him home.
Ah, thanks Alice–and yeah, he’s surprisingly blond compared to us. Still not completely fair, but I have very dark hair, and his older brother was born with about twice as much hair, but darker. Proud Daddy has darker hair now, but had sandy blond hair as a kid.
Trent also appears to have brighter blue eyes. I know there’s no way to know for a while, but Big Brother had slate grey eyes that gradually turned brown; Trent’s eyes almost appear aquamarine. Hubby’s eyes are green-blue, so what a TRIP would that be to have a dark haired, dark eyed boy and a blond, blue-eyed boy? Heh.
Such a keeper.
OMG, squeeeeeeee!
I love babies so much! I know I will never have another baby of my own (48YO, had a hysterectomy 2 years ago), but am soooooo ready for grandchildren! Now, if only my kids were ready to be parents. . .
Congratulations! I hope he learns to sleep through the night very soon.
Congratulations on the little foal Ruffian.
Aw, he’s just so beautiful! swooning
Congratulations!! Sounds like it was a tough slog… but what a payoff! Very very glad everything turned out great (and soooo cute!)
