Head hair or beard trimming at home

i just do it over the sink then i clean it up with a rag and some pledge

its also makes my sink shiny when im done

I kneel in the shower for both beard and head hair. After I am done I’ll collect anything large and toss it in the toilet. The rest goes down the drain when I shower after.

My husband cuts his in the shower and then vacuums up most of the hair before having his shower which cleans up any remaining bits of hair.

Get a spray bottle and spray the surrounding surfaces with water before you start. This will stop the hair where it falls, and keep it from straying all over the place when you try to clean up.

Weird. I thought my hair cutting location would be common, but 24 posts in and nobody does it my way.

My mom cut my hair for years in the kitchen. Now that I shave my head, I have also gravitated towards the kitchen.

I sit (shirtless) on a chair on the hardwood and do my best job. Then, I call my wife to finish up the edges and back and whatnot. Then it’s a one minute sweep with a hand broom and off I go to the shower to get the tiny hairs off.

The bathroom seems like a pain with wet tiles and carpets and uneven surfaces like the sink to clean. Plus, no room to maneouver when cleaning the floors.

I do it over the sink. I get the sink all wet, even over the top sill around the bowl so the clippings will stick, then just wipe it up with a paper towel. Then I use the hair dryer to blow out any loose clippings. Those go all over the place and my wife complains. But she’ll find something else to complain about anyway if I don’t do that.

I tried it outside which was OK but a bit cool at this time of year, and rather public. I think I’ll go for the shower method next time.
