OK, let’s make sure we know what’s going on here. The article is from Monday, right? And it says that governors sent letters to Trump on Monday, right? Isn’t it the case (and I’ll be happy to be corrected if I’m wrong) that the president can’t just “send in the troops” until there’s been a request from the local government?

That’s a done deal. The press is lying, his inauguration was the biggest, most beautiful and most watched inauguration in the history of inaugurations. Unfortunately for the storm victims, his team is now hard at work discrediting the lies told by Gallup and Rasmussen about his approval numbers.

I don’t know the answer to that either, but Orangey apparently has no problem issuing threats to send in the feds to take care of the “carnage” in Chicago. When the President of the United States says stuff like that, it sounds a bit like he’s floating the “martial law” trial balloon to me.
Again, I don’t know the legality of sending any federal assistance without local request, and it might just be ignorant bluster coming from an ignorant manchild, but for fuck’s sake, how is the president even hinting at something like this OK?

Well, I just watched the entire PBS News Hour tonight and there was not any mention of this at all. I’m just thinking if this is Katrina II, there might be something about it on the news. But I guess we’ll see what tomorrow’s news brings.
