Email sent. He’s got money to burn.
Any decent Democratic President would thoroughly and completely give Ajit Pai the [redacted]ing he so richly deserves. While this would not make the 503s and 502s entirely go away, it would most likely be an improvement.
I don’t quite understand why running against Donald Trump is so popular, given the overwhelming evidence that he cheats to win.
Consider how our system is laid out:
January 6, 2021 - counting of the vote
Suppose that Trump loses. I’m sure he’s going to say it was rigged. And I’m almost as sure that he will get losing Trump elector slates to say they really won. A few GOP state legislatures will even pass laws asking Congress to accept the Trump slate, which actually lost, as the winner.
Trump will order Pence to, in front of the joint session, deny having been defeated. I acknowledge that this would be a hard decision for Pence if NBC/ABC/CBS/CNN/AP all say Trump-Pence lost. But Pence has never stood up against his cheater boss before.
Could you start your own velvet coup thread? Thanks so much.
Eta: lol, Carnal’s right. Not the thread.
I will vote for anyone who wins the D nomination.
This country is on the brink of collapse. Bernie’s not my guy at all, but I love my country enough to know that he represents the continuation of the Founding Fathers’ experiment and that Trump is a new experiment.
If you love your country, you will vote D - period. Shit, even if it’s Tulsi Gabbard.
PhillyGuy’s post actually IS on point, because it describes a reality that each and every Democratic candidate is completely ignoring.
They spend masses of time bickering over points that will not be under the control of any President (e.g. enacting Medicare for All versus Medicare for All That Want It). And meanwhile they are not being asked, or volunteering, what they plan to do about ol’ Lawless and his Enablers, who almost certainly will declare victory no matter how few votes they get.
So, start a new thread if desired. But the topic is not irrelevant. The Dem candidates are mired in dreams of a traditional (Obama-esque) Presidency. They think they can safely ignore what the Trumpites are doing to the election, as though those efforts are meaningless and trivial.
They aren’t.
Latest Morning Consult national poll:
Bernie 32%
Bloomberg 20%
Biden 19%
Buttigieg 12%
Warren 10%
Klobuchar 6%
Steyer 3%
Gabbard 2%
Also, from that same poll, for the first time Bernie is now #1 in the black vote across the nation.
The most damning evidence that the Biden campaign is finished is that no one has talked about Hunter for over 2 weeks now.
Joe Biden thinks he talked to dead people. Maybe Amy couldn’t remember the Mexican’s president’s name, but hopefully she can tell if he is alive or dead - not sure about Biden.
He is also not clear on who he is or what office he is running for -
Which puts us rather in a quandary - I sure won’t vote for him for Senate, but I ain’t voting for Hunter for President.

On the one hand, this is the sort of shit that got him in trouble in 2008.
On the other hand, he’s still more lucid and coherent than the current President.
As I have said elsewhere, ISTM that Trump says stupid shit on purpose. And one can understand, in a way, why he said it. Biden seems to say stupid shit by accident, and no one, least of all Biden, can figure out why he said it. Trump lies (for instance) about the inauguration. I get it, Trump is trying to puff himself up. Biden says if you don’t like Biden, you should vote for the other Biden. What the heck does that even mean?

Our army manned the air, it rammed the ramparts, it took over the airports, it did everything it had to do, and at Fort McHenry, under the rockets’ red glare, it had nothing but victory.
You know, we have to protect Thomas Edison, and we have to protect all of these people that came up with, originally, the lightbulb, and the wheel and all of these things.
but you look at the nuclear deal, the thing that really bothers me — it would have been so easy, and it’s not as important as these lives are — nuclear is so powerful; my uncle explained that to me many, many years ago, the power and that was 35 years ago; he would explain the power of what’s going to happen and he was right, who would have thought? — but when you look at what’s going on with the four prisoners — now it used to be three, now it’s four — but when it was three and even now, I would have said it’s all in the messenger; fellas, and it is fellas because, you know, they don’t, they haven’t figured that the women are smarter right now than the men, so, you know, it’s gonna take them about another 150 years — but the Persians are great negotiators, the Iranians are great negotiators, so, and they, they just killed, they just killed us, this is horrible.
It’s not over! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor! No! It’s not over until we say it’s over! Or Super Tuesday - whichever comes first!

All right, quick question: Do ***all ***the Democratic primary states award delegates proportionally, or are some winner-take-all? If so, which?
All are proportional.
Some signs of Joementum with a decent debate performance, some good polls in South Carolina and the Clyburn endorsement. An SC win looks likely but he really needs a big win which will give him momentum for Super Tuesday. For Democrats who oppose Bernie, this is the moment of truth and they need to organize the money and endorsements that Biden needs to fight Bernie. Klobuchar needs to be told her time is up and probably Pete too after SC.
