I think I’ve seen condoms too. On a more mundane level, there are also Hello Kitty toasters, rice cookers, sushi mats, and many other products marketed more for adults. The explanation I’ve heard (though I haven’t the faintest idea if it’s true) is that this is due to how Sanrio products are marketed in Japan; they’re not just aimed at little kids but at young women too.
