The real reason people support Trump is mostly due to tribalism. You can’t form rational arguments around tribalism, since tribalism is more something that we do for survival reasons, so the logical arguments tend to be pretty shitty.
I guess some libertarians may like Trump since he cut taxes for the rich. But he raised taxes for everyone else (his tax cuts eventually result in tax hikes for everyone who isn’t rich), his tariffs increased costs, he is authoritarian and hates democracy, his trade wars, etc. So even libertarians don’t have a lot of reasons to support him.
This libertarian wants him to rot in prison for a long, long, time. The Cato Institute and Reason magazine are not fond of him, either.
