Hell's Kitchen [Summer 2010]

Hollie and Jason/Jay in the finals.

Nilka will outlast Autumn, but will be edged out by Hollie’s superior ability to keep a level head when fighting for the final female spot.

Ed is probably the next to go for the males. Then Ben. I don’t know if Jay or Jason will be in the finals, though one of them will be. I am leaning towards Jay, for the same reason why I give Hollie the advantage: more in control of himself when under stress. Jason has shown that he can get weird when Ramsay is yelling at him and things aren’t going 100% as planned.

Um. Did you forget there were TWO episodes last week?

Anyway, I agree that Holli has the best chance. I think she has never been up for elimination, while Autumn has been a few times.

Yeah, Ben is a goner. As soon as they showed him being a total douche over Nilka’s sandwich – even after Ramsay approved it Ben still kept after her – you knew he couldn’t win. They don’t ever show the winner being THAT nasty & dislikeable. OTOH, he hasn’t had any major kitchen disasters, so I’m guess him as #3.

It was kind of funny to see Ben get reamed by Scott.

Oh man, is Ramsey really going to make Holli and Cookie Monster choose one of themselves to be disqualified?

Last night was great! Ben tried to flex nuts and they got cut off by Scott. Booyah!

I think that Autumn will be the next to go, assuming she doesn’t pull the “i’m doing desserts” thing again.

Even so, there is NO way she will make it to the final two unless she can run the pass like she runs her mouth.

Something about Scott scares me. He just has this “Fuck with me and I’ll render your bones for stock” vibe.

It’s clear Ramsay would love it if Ben were up to running the kitchen. All his comments about “you just aren’t a leader” are deliberate changes to him: step up and prove me wrong.

But instead of making incremental steps (like communicating better, helping the others coordinate timine) while Ramsay is there he made a big leap and landed on Scott’s toes. Ouch!

I do think that the editors of this show follow the same mislead the hell out of 'em approach that the Survivor editors do. So the fact that they show this big crisis between Holli and Jay means it’ll actually be Ben or Autumn who leaves. Most probably Autumn.

All the crying and whimpering on next week’s episode makes me think it’s going to be the “bring your family and let them tell you how proud of you they are” episode.

Confession time: I could not for the life of me figure out just what the hell this meant. Then it finally clicked last night, “Hey, where’s Nilka? I don’t remember seeing ohhhhhh.”

Recent thoughts: Scott is awesome! He’s pretty much the star of the show. I watch it just to see glimpses of him during service. So I have a big ol’ man-crush on Scott, sue me.

And I still have a big ol’ heterosexual crush on Hollie. :stuck_out_tongue:

Well, I didn’t want to spoil you if the episode was still waiting on your DVR…

Well I have to say it was awfully nice of you to assume it was a DVR issue and not an issue about me lacking the mental capabilities to figure out what you fancy shmancy educated folks are talking about.

Last time you make that mistake huh? :stuck_out_tongue:

Poor BlueJay. He was just getting Holli’s ass nestled down comfortably on his crotch and along comes Autumn to ruin the party. She (Holli) looks like she’d be a lot of fun.

I love watching Ben get his ass handed to him. He’s so f*cking pretentious with his “Oui, chef”- oh, shutdafrakup. The funny thing is when he cooks he completely shuts down and can’t communicate worth shit. There’s no way in hell he’d be able to run a team at the Savoy, even if he does a complete 180 right now and performs beautifully for the next couple of episodes. I doubt Ramsay would trust him running a kitchen.

My money’s on Jay or Holli.

At this point I wouldn’t trust any of them to run the kitchen at a Waffle House, let alone a top restaurant at the London Savoy. I have a feeling the hospitality manager at the hotel must cry himself to sleep every night knowing that one of these goobs will have even a token position in his restaurant and the world knows about it.

Looking at the past winners in Wiki, it looks like only 2-3 were able to be successful as a chef after finishing the show. The winner from last season did not even finish his prize contract with the Araxi.

Which is why they should be offered some other prize like an appreticeship instead of head chef or they need to actually have more executive chefs in tge competition instead of Waffle House cooks, personal chefs and cooking teachers.

Speaking of Waffle House cooks whatever happened to Julia? I liked her a lot until her petulant attitude on that last show but I hope that was just because she was just raw from her recent ousting.

They just bring in way too many suck-ass cooks for drama, I think. I’m disappointed in this year’s crop particularly. None of them seem particularly strong. While nobody’s escaped without some criticism, all of them seem to be doing really poorly (compared to previous winners) at dinner service.

I was sorry to see Ed go. Probably had to be done but he at least was less douchey.

I the promo monkeys aren’t lying to us (which, of course, they often are) tonight the show jumps from four to two.

So, get your bets down on who will be finalists?

I think Holli is a lock, and Autumn a goner, but I can’t decide on the guys.

Though I’m wondering if the deciding factor will be the ‘drama’ of having the two lovebirds go head to head…

I think it’ll be Jay and Holli, without even considering the “dramatic lovebird deathmatch” angle. Ben is too much of a douchebag to win it all, plain and simple.

Good call on Holli and Jay. Tonight’s episode reconfirmed Ben’s douchebagery.

Ben was moving quite nicely in the dinner service for someone with a pulled back.

While he was packing his stuff, didn’t they show a clip of him bending over? (Knowing the nature of the show, it was probably just creative editing though…)

Looks like he’ll be back next week anyway. Boo.
