I took the city bus to a game at Candlestick Park (San Francisco) in 1989. Boarded up buildings everywhere, surly gangs of guys hanging out on the street corners… but the thing that really blew me away was that it literally rained garbage. Seems as though, when the wind was right, Candlestick would act kind of like a reverse toilet, and all the garbage there would be sucked up in a vortex, and would rain down on the surrounding area. Beautiful.
