Since the great conversion, I have been seeing commands and phrases that are new to me. I read the vB info, but am still confused.
What’s all this ampersandgt and ampersandlt stuff? do the posters intend for something to appear that doens’t translate well, or are those new abbreviations that one should learn?
also, am I the only one having a hard time getting through the extra-long commands to get into the meat of a quote?

They started out as < and >, but the conversion doesn’t seem to have handled the HTML too well. (< and > are the HTML codes to put in < and > without having a browser interpret what’s between them as HTML code.)

So, factoid only of use to people who are terribly serious about putting HTML codes in their posts? Not relevant to casual conversation with stage directions? OK.
