Know I’m probably too new to launch a topic. But I’ve been lurking long… let that be my excuse.
I’m about 6 months pregnant, and can’t get comfortable at night. I’m an inveterate and life-long back-sleeper, and now I can only sleep on my left side, which I hate. Anyway, it crushes my shoulder muscles on that side so they ache like hell in the morning, and I don’t sleep well. Any suggestions? Anyone had any luck with those long body-pillows? Or are they just a waste of money?
Hep.

My wife had luck with the body pillow you described, and also additional 3 or 4 pillows. Made it better, but she still was kinda unhappy until the birthday.
So, one long pillow and circa three to four other pillows? I hope there’s room left for my husband.
But then, maybe he’ll get an idea of how being crowded feels…

I liked the body pillow, too. I’d still use it, except that when Mr Baby Man had finally arrived he spit up all over it one night.
When it got really bad on some nights I would also sleep on the couch with my back braced against the back of the couch, which seemed to help somewhat. You can achieve a similar effect with pillows tucked in against your back. This way you can lean off your hip a bit, without rolling all the way onto your back. Hang in there.
My wife used the body pillow, and about a bazillion other pillows. Even then, she was never comfortable, but was able to sleep at least. She found that sleeping in a reclined position (rather than completely flat) helped her some also.
BTW… you are right. There will not be much room for hubby, but he’ll understand.
Things are random only insofar as we don’t understand them.
Did she achieve reclining sleep with the pillows as well, or did she use one of those big wedges you can buy at Bed-n-back type stores?
