Help! Cordless keyboard draining batteries in a day.

My cordless keyboard ran for over six months on one set of AAA batteries. Now it is suddenly draining through a pair of batteries in a day. I can’t figure out what changed. Any ideas?

One of the Integrated Circuit chips within the keyboard is failing. Given the cost of repair versus the cost of replacement, replace.

Aww crud. The damn thing is new, too. Hmm. Must check warranty. Thanks.

You can also buy a DC power adapter. Yours probably takes a 9 or 12 volt DC adapter at around 1 to 2 amps. The power requirement spec should be on the power input jack or the back.

Are you sure a key is not stuck?

First thing to check is a stuck key.

Yes, I would suggest checking for a stuck key.

In re-reading the OP it appears you’re talking about a PC keyboard not an audio keyboard. So…umm… never mind.

I already checked for a stuck key and didn’t find one. I am not savvy in these matters, but I am also not a total idiot.

I wouldn’t have thought of it :smack:

A stuck key would show up in the output anyhow.
