Help dress my superhero (City of Heroes)

Eh. I’m in the ‘no capes!’ camp, myself. I might put a cape on one of my characters, someday, maybe. If I’m really bored. As an alternate costume. That I don’t use.

I know I’m weird, but I didn’t even like Superman’s cape. Capes just don’t do it for me.

Now, trenchcoats and wings (not together!)? Yeah. I’m still waiting on the trenches, and damfino how long I’ll have to wait for the wings. But I like the duster look, oh yes.

(The grinding is annoying, kinda. It’s doable, and better than WoW was. I just wish it went by a little bit quicker. Double XP weekend was nice, though; managed to get my main characters their travel powers, at least. :))

Now if I could just get over my serious case of altitis… sigh

Mine only have capes if it fits their character. Of my four above 20, two have capes; one is a Defender who got his cape so people won’t think he’s Family and the other a Mr. Bocor-like Mastermind.

Wings become available when you’ve had an active account for 15 months.

Heh, now I’m thinking of my recent CoH costumes:
Sturmvogel, my 1930s-style ice/storm controller with the dark brown and bronze metallic armor and a finned helmet. Yes, and googles and a crazy-ass mustache.

and Agent Oi!: sonic/energy blaster–mohawk, anarchy t-shirt, huge pants with flames, stomping boots.

One of my early Heroes was a C-3PO parody, catchphrase: “Protocol this!”

It’s too bad you’re not on Victory server; I could introduce you to my Supergroup.

Being a hero, you wouldn’t like it very much…

I recently paid 10 million infamy for a set of draconic wings; with my flame aura and armor my character has a mean look. Some costume accessories look better on heroes, like wings on the helmet and simple uni-color tights; some look better on villains, such as medieval armor and spikes.

If you want to see wild costumes, come to Victory server. It seems that all the oddballs have migrated here, just like me.

To address the “grinding” problem- it works best with a full team. There is an XP multiplier that applies, the more team members there are the larger amount of XP is awarded.

It’s also just plain faster. Unless they’re very well-organized small groups tend to take breathers every so often to heal up and the like, but a large, properly balanced group can basically play uninterrupted for as long as they like, barring any big mistakes.

I do not like the ass-cape look of the duster. I tried one on my peacebringer (John Walker Peace, cowpoke turned vigilante superdude by the alien possessing him), but it looked horrible, so I went back to my lab coat – with the right colors, it looks more like a leather trenchcoat than the ass-cape does.

The sad thing with the lab coat is the bad rigging the rear end has… no matter how my character is built pixels from their ass poke through the thing with every step, so I always need to make sure that their pants and coat sport the same color.
