I inherited a felt ‘cowboy’ type hat from my grandfather. All the wear and tear it’s recieved has caused a hole to form in the point of the crown. At first it added ‘character’, but now it’s gotten to be a big, ugly hole.
Can this type of hat be repaired (ie - 'filled)( re-felted?). This hat means a lot to me and I would greatly appreciate any help Dopers could give.
Thank you,
Steven
If you check your Yellow Pages, you should be able to find somebody who sells hats. If they sell them, they probably know somebody who will fix them. There may not be many people, but give it a try.
I would imagine that fixing a hat isn’t cheap since there isn’t much call to do it.
