Don’t ask why, but I am trying to find an old commercial from the 70s (possibly early 80s.) I feel like it was for Hush Puppies shoes, but not certain. It was a man’s face in closeup, and then a number of feet come in and start rubbing on him. YouTube and Google are failing me but the Dope never fails…
The feet start rubbing on his face? Bare feet? That image brings to mind the music video for Numb by U2…which would be strange for a commercial about shoes.
There’s a crapton of tv commercial compilations from that era on youtube. If it ran nationally, it’s bound to be in one of them but it would take some patient hunting to find it.
Yes, I always thought the U2 video was inspired by the commercial I’m thinking of, but it was so long ago I can’t recall it. I have actually been scrolling through some of those compilations but no luck yet.
