Apparently the movie “Gorillas in the Mist” about Dian Fossey was mostly based on a 1987 Life magazine article. I’ll take that on face value, but I haven’t been able to determine exactly which month–so I can’t be completely sure that 1987 is correct–but that’s what everyone says.
Anyone???
Side note: Dian Fossey’s life–aside from her conservationism–would be perfect fodder for a “Lifetime” tv-movie or miniseries.

Thanks. I’ll give that a shot. That’s the right author, and the time is close enough. I’d already looked at covers in that time frame and saw nothing about gorillas.
