Help? Firefox hates Twitter, refuses it completely

"The site at https://twitter.com/xxyy has experienced a network protocol violation that cannot be repaired.

The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because an error in the data transmission was detected."

This is the only thing I get from FF on the subject, and there is no Advanced button or anything suggested. Does anyone have any ideas what causes this?

According to this site (How To Fix "Network Protocol Error" On Mozilla Firefox - OSTechNix), it’s a cache error. Clear your cache and reload the page.

Mind you, that’s not to say that the comms error has wider and dare I say beneficial possibilities.

That’s exactly what I just had to do a few days ago.
FTR, I’ve found that nearly any time ‘clear your cache/cookies’ is recommended, clearing them for that specific domain works just fine and you don’t lose everything.
I don’t know about other’s, but I can’t stand spending the next few days getting myself logged in to all my regular websites and hoping I don’t have to reset too many forgotten passwords just because of an issue with one site.

I clear cache a lot, it does seem to fix minor display and DNS issues, but I never clear my cookies, as I’ve never found that to help anything for me.

Well, that was it. Thanks! I guess I have no idea how that’s caused. I don’t know enough about the subject, and it’s probably not worth learning about at this point.

It’s like knowing exactly what the oil in your car does. You don’t need to know the mechanics of how it reduces friction or helps keep heat in check. You don’t need to know how the oil pump works or exactly where the oil goes within the engine. You don’t need to know the chemical makeup of the various types of oil. You just need to change it from time to time and the car takes care of the rest.
