Someone over on Fark cannot remember a book he read:
**]I read a silly novel years ago. It involved an American in Nepal that found a Yeti that was cool. Neanderthal’s had telepathic powers and I think there was some skiing.
Anyone have a clue to the name of the novel?
/bugging me for years
//reads way too much **
This is all I have to go on.
Aside from the fact that I have never read it, I might suggest Kim Stanley Robinson’s Escape from Kathmandu, which had a yeti in a baseball cap on the cover.
Another possibility is Esau bu Philip Kerr. It has Himalayas(Nepal), yeti, American climber, and as far as I can remember, telepathy, Neanderthals, though I’m not sure about the skiing.
Ugh. I don’t remember that though it’s been a long time. The climber finds an extant colony of Neanderthals living in the mountain Macchapichare in Nepal. They have been called yetis. I believe they have telepathy. The CIA is involved somewhere.
